Kevin Grant’s Serenity reunites the “child” of Pinotage with “parent” varietals of Pinot Noir and Cinsault (Hermitage). The 2020 vintage saw a remarkable season with smaller berries giving unusually concentrated flavors, lending substantial freshness, depth, and refinement the wine. After handpicking and crushing in open fermenters, cold macerations on skins took place for 7-10 days before fermentation. Each varietal was separately barreled to undergo malolactic fermentation, and after 11 months in 225 French oak barrels (20% new), the final blend was produced.

About the Winery - ATARAXIA
Hemel-en-Aarde is Afrikaans for “heaven and earth” and the claim is justified. The estate sits on a particularly heavenly stretch of land beneath a lofty peak of the Babylon’s Tower mountain range. In addition to its unrelenting beauty, Ataraxia is home to some of the most spectacular terroirs South Africa has to offer.
In 2004, The Skyfields Farm was visioned into the Ataraxia wine label when husband and wife, Kevin and Hanli Grant and a few friends purchased this 47-hectare prime vineyard property.
Almost two decades on, we are associated with crafting wines of incredible finesse, balance and depth; wines that proudly hold their own on the international wine stage.
