This collector’s item is made from a selection of only the finest barrels produced from L’Avenir’s famed Block 2 Pinotage vineyard. Block 2 is situated at the highest point of L’Avenir Hill on an exclusive geological vein of weathered shale that consistently yields the best quality Pinotage. Excellent aging potential of up to 25 years, if you prefer some age on your wine or you’d like to see how gracefully it ages, try the Single Block Pinotage 2013
Nose & Palate
A symphony of violets, potpourri, dried cranberries and hints of dark chocolate. Fresh and inviting, yet complex, layered and intriguing. The palate is generous and complex, with fresh cherries and a subtle, sweet spiciness that distinguishes fine Stellenbosch Pinotage. Well-judged oak, fruit purity and textured richness are hallmarks of this world class wine.
Pairing
A fine choice for Peking duck. It’s also an excellent pair with gamey meats, try ostrich fillet with a cranberry reduction.
