This is a wine of poise, possessed with real elegance and polished tannins from the Stellenbosch sub-region known as The Golden Triangle, widely recognised to produce some of South Africa’s finest noble grape varietals. Picked from the Cabernet Sauvignon vines on the lower part of these mountain vineyards, this vintage saw less new oak (50%), maintaining the refined red fruit flavours.
Nose & Palate
Minerality entices from nose to finish on this age worthy wine. The plush bouquet showing aromas of bright red cherry and tobacco opens to reveal exquisite notes of floral perfume. A fine example of sophistication and finesse showing both complexity and depth of flavor. Superb red cherry and juicy plum with some pencil shavings entice. A silky, chalky tannin structure culminating in a dry, lingering finish.
Pairing
Prime rib, filet mignon, New York strip - whichever steak takes your fancy. Pepper-crusted ahi tuna.
